As our communities and societies evolve, so should our buildings. What is happening in the world outside of theatres that we can learn from about spaces that people love to gather in? We live in a time when technology is rapidly changing the way we interact with the world, with our communities and with each other. What can we learn about changing paradigms? At the same time, flexibility can often lead to a lack of context – does flexibility come at a cost of a creative tension between theatrical experience and space? In a world of information flow that largely transcends traditional geographical boundaries, how can we insure that facilities are designed to be locally relevant, culturally sustainable and competitive?
